RankInFile was founded in 2012 by Cindy and her husband, Paul Rankin. Cindy brings nearly 50 years of hands-on experience in relational database development and management. She got her start in the late 1970s and has been growing her knowledge and skills ever since. People know her not only for her technical expertise but also for her ability to explain complex topics in a clear, down-to-earth way.

After Paul’s passing Sarah Rowland Moore joined Cindy in the business.

Right now, we’re proud to support a large medical laboratory that serves healthcare centers across the country. Because of our healthcare background, we maintain annual HIPAA certification for all our employees to ensure the highest level of security and compliance.

Our work extends beyond healthcare too. For example, we partner with the City of Sherwood, Oregon, to create financial reports and streamline billing automation, helping the city build stronger connections with its customers.

We work with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, Infor Birst, Cognos Reporting, SAP BusinessObjects, and Crystal Reports, as well as some that aren’t quite as popular..

We’re a small but dedicated team led by Cindy and Sarah, with the support of a junior data analyst and a marketing coordinator. This close-knit structure allows us to stay flexible, responsive, and focused on each client’s unique needs.

Their combined experience includes working as Programmers and Quality Assurance Team Leads for municipalities and private tech companies. Much of their work has been in healthcare, building databases and creating reliable reporting solutions with platforms like SQL Server, Crystal Reports, Excel, SAP BusinessObjects, Infor Birst, and Cognos Reporting.
